Family wedding from a guest’s eye view

I recently attended a wedding of a family member. The ceremony was at the Heidelberg NG Church in Gauteng, the outside of the church has beautiful stone finish which most brides will adore.

From there we drove to the wedding venue, the Stone Cellar Wedding Venue. One gets a sense of tranquility once you arrive at the venue. It is quite a distance away from the main tar road which makes the venue nicely isolated from road noise. It is surrounded by lush green lawns and open land with a small rolling hills.

The reception area outside has a very spacious feel to it. The dance floor is in the middle of the main area, with space for about 10 couples to dance. The bar is close-by.  Being a photographer, makes it very tempting to snap a few photos whilst attending. I kept my distance, not to interfere with the photographers that were hired for the event. Here I used a Canon 700D and Canon 50mm Prime 1.8STM lens.

Oupa Jan as seen in the photos, is one of the toughest grandparents I know off. Still enjoys a beer and some Brandy at times.
